John :11 21, 23.
Then said Martha unto Jesus, Lord, if thou had been here, my brother had not died.
But I know, that even now, whatsoever thou wilt ask of God, God will give it thee.
Jesus saith unto her, your brother shall rise again.
John :11 21, 23.
Then said Martha unto Jesus, Lord, if thou had been here, my brother had not died.
But I know, that even now, whatsoever thou wilt ask of God, God will give it thee.
Jesus saith unto her, your brother shall rise again.
The Bible relates in chapter 11 of the book of John, there was a man who was sick and who was the friend of Jesus; his name is Lazarus. His sisters sent to him, saying “Lord, he whom you love, is ill. Jesus said, this illness does not lead to death. It is for the glory of God. What message of hope Jesus sent to the Sisters of Lazarus! These sisters knew that Jesus used to make miraculous healings. Jesus stayed two days in the place where he was, and Lazarus died. The hope the sisters had, passed to disappointment. Arrived at Lazarre home, Jesus found Lazarre died four days ago. Everything seems finished. No solution in the eyes of men. But Jesus always has a solution. Martha, one of Lazarre's sisters, learned that Jesus was coming, she went to meet him and said to him: Lord, if you had been here my brother would not be dead. For Martha, Jesus is late. He spent too much time before coming to heal his brother. She forgot that Jesus said: This illness is not for death, it is for the glory of God. She believed in Jesus for healing. Now for Martha, Lazarus is dead, Jesus cannot do anything. Jesus said to him, "Your brother will be resurrected. Martha replied that he will resurrect at the resurrection on the last day. Martha announced to her sister Mary that Jesus is there. Mary said to Jesus the same sentence as Martha: If you had been here my brother would not be dead. The two sisters considered that Jesus is late on the Lazarre’s case. Jesus, seeing them crying, asked: Where did you put him? Those who were at Lazarus and his sisters showed Jesus the tomb of Lazarus. Jesus said: Take away the stone! Martha answered him, Lord by this time there will be an odor, for he has been dead four days. This implies we cannot do anything. You are late, Jesus. Jesus said to him, "Did I not tell you that if you believed you will see the glory of God? They took away the stone. And Jesus cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come out! And Lazarus comes alive from the tomb. What miracle!
Lazarre's sisters believed that Jesus was late in the illness of their brother. They waited for Jesus for the healing of Lazarre, at his death they believed it was all over. There was no solution. But Jesus came and did greater thing. They waited for healing, but Jesus brought the resurrection. How long do you expect Jesus in your situation? Maybe you think that Jesus is late in your case, as the Sisters of Lazarre thought. We can say: God is never late. Not only is he the Almighty God, but he is also the sovereign God. He has his time. He controls the circumstances. Jesus had asked to take away the stone from Lazarre's Tomb, which had constituted an obstacle or proof that it was all over. What stone do you have in your life showing that everything is over for you? Do you want to ask God, to give you strength so that you can take away this stone? He loves you, he can help you. God can manifest his glory in your life. He's never late. If you believe, you'll see the glory of God. Put your trust in God and you can see his glory.
Amen.
