Seek the word of God in our projects.

James 4:14,15 14 yet you do not know what tomorrow will bring. What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes. 15 Instead you ought to say, “If the Lord wills, we will live and do this or that.”

The beginning of a year is the time chosen by many people to plan projects for their lives, their families, their churches, or their businesses etc. It is a good thing to plan projects for our lives, our families, our churches, or our businesses. We, the Servants of God, must remember that we are not Masters of our lives, and we have no idea of the future. But we have a Father who gave us life and knows everything. He knows the past, present and future. It is wise and even recommended by the word of God to seek the word of our Father in our daily projects. We read in the book of James 4:13 14 “13 Come now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go into such and such a town and spend a year there and trade and make a profit”— 14 yet you do not know what tomorrow will bring. What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes.” Sometimes we forget that we are a vapor, that we can disappear at any moment and that we do not control the future. As Servants of God, it is preferable to seek the word of God in our projects. Very often, after our failures, we seek God to help us or rescue us. Worst of all, even the success of our projects, our great achievements for God do not necessarily mean that we are well seen in his eyes. We read in the book of Matthew 7: 22,23 22 Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name, perform many miracles?’ 23 Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’

Seeking the word of God in our projects must be a duty for us Servants of God. In everything we do, God must be glorified. We must seek his approval. God told Jeremiah: Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not. Jeremiah 33:3

Jesus Christ left us the Holy Spirit, who can guide us, advise us and even reveal hidden things to us. John 14: 13-17

Develop an intimate relationship with God in meditation of his word, in prayer, in worship and in respecting his commandments. This relationship will produce unwavering faith in Him and He can answer our prayers. That means he can reveal the word he has for us in our projects.

John 15:7 If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.

Happy New Year 2024! May God be always with you and bless you!
